42 Points In One Half Of Play!
Back in the 2003 season when Michael Jordan was making his final tribute tour throughout the NBA he stopped into LA to play his last game against the Lakers. There was much anticipation for the MJ KB matchup. And it lived up to it’s hype. MJ started off the game hitting his first four jump shots, giving us a glimpse of all those years when he dominated the game. MJ will always and forever be the greatest ever, but Kobe is right there with him. Check out the following video:
This game is absolutely entertaining and fun to watch. It’s fun to watch MJ hit jumpers at his old age in the face of the NBA’s best. But watching Kobe Bryant score 42 points with 4 minutes left in the second quarter totally overshadowed Mike. And deservedly so. In the 2006 season when Kobe scored his record high 81 against the Raptors, he only had 31 points in the first half. Then he went nuts because the game was on the line and he scored 55 in the second half. In this game against Washington Kobe goes for 42 right off the bat in the first half with 8 three pointers. Incredible. Name me one other player on the planet today who could do this! At least try naming a player without sounding stupid that is. Because there is nobody else. Kobe is the best player on the planet. Hands down!
