Lakers Examiner: The Los Angeles Lakers might be getting too efficient for their own good. After suffering their first loss of the season, they have picked up wins in their last four games, none of which were even close by the start of the fourth quarter.
So what’s the problem?
It’s terrible for the fans! The Lakers of old would toy with teams they should easily beat, going up by 15 before allowing an unprecedented 16-0 run to fall behind, only to see Kobe hit a three with 1.4 seconds remaining to pull out an exciting one-point victory.
The fans would chastise the Lakers for not putting teams away, but how could they complain after a thrilling, last-second victory?
There haven’t been any of those so far this season. In fact, it’s been quite the opposite of thrilling.
This year’s Lakers managed to turn Thursday night’s nationally-televised game with the Phoenix Suns into a snoozefest, taking a virtually insurmountable lead into the fourth quarter (the Suns new half-court style didn’t help the boring factor either).
