Classless Utah Jazz Fans

As many have seen and heard, especially over the past 2 weeks or so, and as emphasized by the picture above, many Utah Jazz fans are heartless, classless, and ruthless. This statement couldn’t be any more true. If the picture above doesn’t shock you enough, try looking at this one from a fan taunting Derek Fisher while shooting a free throw.
The issue began earlier in the season when Utah Jazz fans proceeded to loudly “boo” Derek Fisher. 1 season after Derek Fisher was bought out of his contract kindly by Jazz owner Larry H. Miller in order for Fisher to live closer to better medical attention for his sick daughter. Somehow, the sports media in Utah have misled the Utah community in believing that Derek Fisher left because he wanted to simply play for the Lakers again. A horrible and ridiculous assumption made by the media and the fans.
After booing Fisher in the regular season, the booing continued in the playoffs. Louder and louder. Nastier and nastier. After game 3, Derek Fisher was reported as “getting into it with a fan” after the game because the Jazz fan was making threats to Derek Fisher’s family.
The Truth - Many Utah Jazz Fans are Classless, but many are not!
Many of the Utah Jazz fans are classless and heartless. This is very true. But it’s also a fact that many are not. Many of the fans in Utah still love and admire Derek Fisher for what he did. And although many in the building boo Fisher, many still do not. The booing is one issue. But the image you see above and the threats from the stands are another. I have a firsthand take on how bad some of these fans are, because I am a Die Hard Lakers fan living about 30 minutes south of Salt Lake City, Utah. I above many others know how classless many Jazz fans can be.
There has been however many “rumblings” going around that these are “Mormons”. These rumors could not possibly be farther from the truth. The Active Practicing Mormons in Utah are a kind and friendly people, who seem to look upon Derek Fishers actions as admirable. There are however a strong community of Non-Practicing Mormons in Utah who always seem to cause the most trouble. Who seem to be the classless type. These are the people you see all over the place at the Utah Jazz games. I was at the game the first time they booed Derek Fisher, wearing proudly my laker Yellow and Purple. And I can tell you from first hand that those were not Mormon people.
So let’s make sure not to throw religion into this. It’s painting with too much of a broad brush and is not fair in anyway to the many people in Utah who do love Derek Fisher and for what he stands for. But generally, Utah Jazz Fans themselves, you can go ahead and say are classless, heartless, and ruthless. They are horrible fans! And it’s unfortunate that this small minority of fans ruin the experience for the rest of those who live in the state of Utah.
