After L.A.’s Tuesday afternoon practice, Kobe Bryant told assembled media that while his finger remains painful, it won’t cause him to miss any playing time, confirming his sentiments from Monday evening.
“I’m good,” he said. “It’s not fractured or anything like that, so I’m happy.”
The pain was the most Bryant’s ever played with, “excruciating” in his words, but No. 24 made it clear that he’s not concerned either about long-term implications of the injury or about his short-term shooting, which he says he’ll test at Wednesday morning’s shootaround.
“I’ll figure it out,” he explained. “I’ll get a lot of shots up (tomorrow) and go from there.”
Bryant also took some time to take a picture with each and every of the (about) 20 L.A. Dodgers players who were around to take in the Lakers’ practice. Afterwards, we stepped aside with pitcher Clayton Kershaw and Lamar Odom, which we’ll post tomorrow afternoon.
