Kobe’s Game 2 Performance was a Historic one!

While people are raving about Chris Paul’s first two games against the Dallas Mavericks, people seem to be overlooking Kobe Bryant’s game 2 performance against the Denver Nuggets. People are pointing out the obvious, his 49 points. But the stat that is going unnoticed is the 10 assists that went with it. Over the last 15 years in the NBA playoffs, there have been only 3 other playoff performances with at least 40 points and 10 assists. Tracy McGrady, Kevin Johnson, and Charles Barkley. With Kobe Bryant’s stats being the highest. So let me make this point more clear for you. Over the past 15 years in the playoffs, Nobody has scored more points in one game while getting 10 assists at the same time! Big time performance by Kobe Bryant.

Another important stat is the 20 points in the first quarter alone! It’s the second highest scoring effort in one quarter in the playoffs in Lakers history! The record being Elgin Baylor who once scored 22 points in one playoff quarter.
