This time, he was here on the same night that LeBron James – Kobe’s sole competition for the title of the league’s signature player – was playing Madison Square Garden with his Cleveland Cavaliers, trying to follow Kobe’s 61-point performance there on Monday night. LeBron had already said he would not try to top that number, which seemed smart.
