TLN’s Game Preview: Lakers @ Warriors

The Lakers are in Oakland to play the Golden State Warriors tonight, fresh off of having their 15-game home winning streak snapped. The Lakers loss can be attributed to not executing on defense. The Lakers won the previous two games against the Hornets by jumping on them early and executing on defense.
Lucky for the Lakers this is a back to back game for them and an immediate chance to recover and get back on track after suffering their second home loss of the season.
The Warriors are hosting the Lakers at home after losing three straight on the road and four of their last five games.
The Lakers bench is getting thinner. The team is now without Jordan Farmar, Luke Walton and Lamar Odom. More than likely Vladimir Radmanovic will step into the starting lineup at small forward with Trevor Ariza coming in as the sixth man. For some reason, Radmanovic is more productive starting as oppose to coming off of the bench.
Everyone needs to step up when injuries occur.
Josh Powell will see more playing time at power forward and the Lakers need his tenacity both as a rebounder and defender. It is imperative that the Lakers get more than 17 points out of the front line. Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Vladimir Radmanovic, Trevor Ariza and Sasha Vujacic can not have another 11-of- 37 shooting night.
The Warriors are still a dangerous team and the Lakers can’t afford a letdown of any sort.
The coaching staff wants to see more energy from Bynum, which I agree with but also want to see more from Pau Gasol. I want to see both Bynum & Gasol play aggressively and attack the basket more, play like 7-footers, no more of these missed layups or finesse shots when inside.
I want to see passion on every possession from the Lakers no matter who the opponent is and not lose sight of playing strong defense and the goal of winning a Championship.
The Lakers have an advantage with their long front line and will win by controlling the tempo, glass, stopping dribble penetration and rotating out to three point shooters.
