For the second game in a row, we had a chance to tie the game, but came up short.
The game started out better than our last. We still turned the ball over in the first couple possessions and Bynum was in foul trouble for much of the time, but we played with more focus and brought a better defensive effort.
Unfortunately, things started to fall apart in the third quarter. We allowed the Magic to score a game high 36 points, including letting them go 5 for 7 from beyond the arc. We also could not keep them off the foul line. However, as bad as the quarter was, we still had a chance to tie the game in the end and send it into overtime.
This was a tough loss, especially for it to be a back to back game that ends in a similar manner. We have a day off to try to figure things out before we head to Memphis to face the Grizzlies.
Player of the Game: I was going to go with Fisher since he stepped up big, being that we’re now short at that position, but I’m going to have to go with Kobe again. He was aggressive all night. He scored 41 points, was perfect from the foul line and added 8 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Play of the Game: Ariza’s dunk on the put back off the offensive glass in the first quarter.
What’s Up Next: We head to Memphis to face Pau Gasol’s old team. Hopefully, we brush off these losses and grab a win, so we don’t have to roll into New Orleans 0-3 on this four game road-trip.
